How to Assign Roles and Permissions in Synclo
Before you begin
Before assigning roles and permissions, make sure you have:
• Company Admin access
• a defined list of roles or job functions
• clear access requirements for each role
• employees already added to the system
If roles are not clearly defined, access control becomes inconsistent. Plan roles first, then assign permissions.
Why this setup matters
Roles and permissions control what users can see and do. Proper setup protects sensitive data and keeps workflows controlled. As a result, only the right users can access or update information.
Steps
1. Sign in to Synclo and open the HR module
Log in to app.synclo.com with admin access. Then open the HR section from the dashboard.
2. Go to Roles and Permissions
Navigate to Manage Company > Setup > Roles & Permissions to access the configuration screen.
3. Review existing roles
Check the current list of roles. This helps avoid creating duplicate or unnecessary roles.
4. Create a new role or edit an existing one
Click Add Role to create a new role, or select an existing role to edit. Use clear and consistent naming.
5. Assign permissions to the role
Select the actions this role can perform, such as view, edit, approve, or manage. Keep permissions limited to actual responsibilities.
6. Save the role configuration
Save the role so it becomes available for assignment across the system.
7. Assign the role to employees
Open an employee profile and assign the appropriate role. This ensures correct access for each user.
8. Verify role access
Check that the assigned role provides the correct level of access. Adjust permissions if needed.
What happens next
After assigning roles and permissions, you can:
• control access to different modules
• manage approval workflows
• restrict sensitive data
• maintain system security
This ensures that users only access what they need.
Quick Tips
• Keep roles simple and easy to understand
• Avoid giving full access to all users
• Review permissions regularly
• Assign roles based on actual responsibilities
Troubleshooting
• User cannot access certain features
Check the assigned role and update permissions.

• Changes not applied
