How to Assign an Employee to a Department in Synclo
Before you begin
Before assigning an employee to a department, make sure you have:
• HR Admin or Company Admin access
• departments already configured in the system
• the employee record available
• the correct reporting structure defined
If departments are still being finalized, complete the department setup first. This helps maintain accurate reporting and approval workflows.
Why this setup matters
Department assignments affect reporting, approvals, attendance visibility, performance reviews, and organizational reporting. Assigning employees to the correct department keeps company records accurate and makes team management easier.
Steps
1. Sign in to Synclo and open the HR module
Log in to app.synclo.com using an account with permission to manage employee records.
2. Open Employee Management
Navigate to Manage Company > Employee Management from the main menu.
3. Access Employee Directory
Open the Employee Directory to view all active employees.
4. Locate the employee
Use the search bar or filters to find the employee who needs a department assignment.
5. Open the employee profile
Select the employee and open View & Edit Employee Profile.
6. Go to Job Details
Navigate to the Job Details section of the employee profile.
7. Select the department
Choose the appropriate department from the available list. Ensure the selection matches the employee’s role and responsibilities.
8. Review related fields
Verify designation, reporting manager, location, and grade information. These details should remain consistent with the selected department.
9. Save the changes
Click Save Changes to apply the department assignment.
10. Verify the assignment
Return to the Employee Directory and confirm that the employee appears under the correct department.
