How to Configure Application Forms
Before you begin
Before configuring the application form, make sure you have:
• Company Admin or Recruitment Admin access
• a list of candidate details your team needs
• required document fields confirmed
• any screening questions prepared
• consent text reviewed by your company
Decide which fields candidates must complete and which ones should remain optional. This keeps the form clear and reduces incomplete applications.
Why this setup matters
The application form controls what candidates provide when they apply for a job. A clear form gives recruiters the information they need for screening and comparison.
Required fields also reduce missing data. At the same time, optional fields let candidates share extra details without making the application too long.
Steps
1. Sign in to Synclo
Log in to Synclo with an account that can manage recruitment settings.
2. Open Recruitment Setup
From the left sidebar, expand HireHub. Then select Recruitment Setup.
3. Open the Application Form tab
On the Recruitment Configuration page, select Application Form.
The page will display the fields currently included in the candidate application form.
4. Review the available fields
The standard field list may include:
• Full Name
• Email
• Phone Number
• Resume / CV Upload
• LinkedIn Profile URL
• Current Location
• Portfolio / Website URL
• Years of Experience
• Highest Education
• Expected Salary
• Notice Period
• Cover Letter
Review each field before changing its settings.
5. Choose which fields candidates can see
Use the Show toggle beside each field to control whether it appears on the application form.
Turn the toggle on for fields candidates should complete. Turn it off for fields your company does not need.
6. Set required fields
Use the Required toggle to decide which visible fields candidates must complete before submitting an application.
For example, you may require Full Name, Email, Resume / CV Upload, Current Location, and Expected Salary.
7. Keep optional fields where suitable
Leave the Required toggle off for information that is useful but not needed from every candidate.
Fields such as LinkedIn Profile URL, Portfolio / Website URL, Notice Period, or Cover Letter may remain optional based on your recruitment process.
8. Add a custom field
Click Add Field in the top right corner of the Application Form section.
The Add Field window will open.
9. Enter the field title
In the Title field, enter the question or label candidates will see.
For example:
• Why do you want to join our company?
• Are you available to work on site?
• Which programming languages do you use?
• What is your preferred work location?
Use short and direct wording.
10. Select the field type
Open the Type dropdown and choose the format that fits the question.
Available field types include:
• Text Field
• Radio
• Checkboxes
• Dropdown
Use Text Field for written answers. Choose Radio when candidates must select one option. Use Checkboxes when several answers are allowed. Select Dropdown for a fixed list of choices.
11. Complete the custom field settings
Add the answer options if you selected Radio, Checkboxes, or Dropdown.
Review the title and options before adding the field to the form.
12. Add more custom fields if needed
Repeat the same process for each extra question.
However, keep the form focused. Too many questions may make the application harder to complete.
13. Configure the consent checkbox
Scroll to the Consent section.
Use the toggle beside Show consent checkbox on application form to display or hide the consent statement.
When enabled, candidates must review the declaration shown on the application form.
14. Preview the application form
Click Preview at the bottom of the page.
The Application Form Preview will show the form as candidates will see it.
15. Review the candidate view
Check the following items in the preview:
• visible fields appear correctly
• required fields show an asterisk
• the resume upload area is available
• field order is clear
• consent text appears when enabled
• the Submit Application button is visible
Close the preview after completing the review.
16. Make any required changes
Return to the Application Form page and update the Show or Required settings where needed.
You can also add more fields before saving.
17. Save the application form
Click Save Changes to apply the new form settings.
The updated form will then be used when candidates submit applications.
What happens next
After configuring the application form, you can:
• collect the same basic details from each candidate
• require resumes and other needed information
• add questions based on your hiring needs

You can return to Recruitment Setup later to update the form when your hiring process changes.
