How to Configure Screening Settings
Before you begin
Before configuring screening settings, make sure you have:
• Company Admin or Recruitment Admin access
• your approved screening methods
• the types of screening your team will use
• any required candidate documents confirmed
• the interview feedback questions prepared
• recruiters and interviewers already assigned recruitment roles
Decide whether your team will use in person meetings, video calls, phone calls, assessments, or interviews. Also confirm which screening types require file uploads or feedback before you save the settings.
Why this setup matters
Screening settings control how your recruitment team reviews candidates before they move to the next hiring stage.
Clear settings give recruiters consistent screening options. They also help interviewers record ratings, strengths, concerns, and recommendations in the same format. As a result, hiring teams can compare candidates using complete and structured feedback.
Steps
1. Sign in to Synclo
Sign in with an account that can manage recruitment settings.
2. Open Recruitment Setup
From the left sidebar, expand HireHub. Next, select Recruitment Setup.
3. Select Screening Settings
On the Recruitment Configuration page, open the Screening Settings tab.
Two sections are available:
• Screening Types
• Feedback Form
Start with Screening Types to configure how candidate screenings can take place.
4. Review the available screening modes
In the Screening Modes section, review the available options:
• In Person
• Video Call
• Phone Call
Each mode has an Enabled toggle. A mode marked as Default is included as a standard option in the system.
5. Enable the screening modes your team uses
Turn on the Enabled toggle for each method that recruiters and interviewers can select.
For example, enable Video Call for remote interviews and In Person for office based meetings. Turn off any mode that your company does not use.
6. Review the available screening types
Move to the Screening Types section.
The standard screening types shown may include:
• Assessment/Test
• Interview
Each type contains settings for its status, document uploads, and feedback requirements.
7. Activate or deactivate a screening type
Use the Active toggle to control whether a screening type is available.
Keep the type active when it is part of your hiring process. Otherwise, turn it off so users cannot select it during candidate screening.
8. Set file upload requirements
Turn on File Upload Required when recruiters or interviewers must attach a file during that screening type.
For example, an Assessment/Test may require an answer sheet, test result, or supporting document. Leave the option off when no file is needed.
9. Set feedback form requirements
Enable Feedback Form Required when the user must complete feedback before the screening can be closed.
This setting helps prevent candidate records from moving forward without an evaluation.
10. Save the screening type settings
Review the enabled modes and screening type rules. Then click Save Changes.
The updated settings will be available in screening and interview workflows.
11. Open the Feedback Form tab
Return to Screening Settings and select Feedback Form.
This section controls the questions interviewers and reviewers complete after a screening.
12. Review the standard feedback fields
The feedback form may include:
• Overall Rating from 1 to 5
• Strengths
• Concerns
• Recommendation
• Notes
Each field has separate Show and Required settings.
13. Choose which fields appear on the form
Turn on the Show toggle beside each field that interviewers should see.
For example, you may show Overall Rating, Strengths, Concerns, Recommendation, and Notes for a complete candidate review.
14. Mark required feedback fields
Use the Required toggle for fields that must be completed before feedback can be submitted.
You may require Overall Rating and Recommendation while leaving Strengths, Concerns, and Notes optional.
15. Add a custom feedback field
Click Add Field in the top right corner if your team needs another evaluation question.
Enter a clear title and select the field type provided by the system. Keep each question focused on information needed for the hiring decision.
16. Review the feedback form layout
Check the order and status of all fields.
Make sure required questions are necessary and that interviewers can complete the form without entering repeated information.
17. Preview the feedback form
Click Preview to review the form before saving.
Confirm that visible fields appear correctly and required fields are clear to users.
18. Save the feedback form
Close the preview and make any final changes. Then click Save Changes.
The updated form will be used when recruiters or interviewers submit candidate feedback.
